AVP has provided youth programming to reduce and prevent violence in Philadelphia since 1991.
We currently offer three youth-focused programs: Youth Violence Outreach, Positive Action, and Communities That Care.
Youth Violence Outreach
Through our Youth Violence Outreach program, we provide individual and group therapy and psychoeducational prevention groups in schools and other community sites.
Positive Action
Through our Positive Action program, we use an evidence-based social and emotional learning curriculum to promote positive behaviors and improve academic performance.
Communities That Care
The Communities That Care (CTC) model is a prevention-based approach to promote the well-being of youth in communities. The CTC model involves collaboration between community members, youth, and professionals to identify and prioritize specific risk factors that contribute to youth behavioral problems and substance abuse.
